As going by Xiaomi invite, Xiaomi has announced a succesor to their Redmi 1S.
And It is called Redmi 2 instead of the expected name Redmi 2s.

The colours now look more polished and refined than the Redmi 1s being dark and vibrant.
The Redmi 2 comes with the new MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 Kitkat.
The display specifications remains the same 4.7 inch IPS dispaly with resolution of 720*1280 and of pixel density 312 PPI as that of the Redmi 1S.
The memory area also remains the same as Redmi 1S with 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage.
The expandable storage has been downgraded to 32GB from 64GB of Redmi 1S.
The biggest boost to Redmi 2 is from the processor which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 1.2 GHz 64-bit processor with Adreno 306 GPU.
Another boost is to the simcard capability which as expected a Dual sim phone with each sim of 4G LTE connectivity with both Chinese and International LTE bands(TDD/FDD) with connection speed of over 150 Mbps.
In terms of connectivity it features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.
It features of 8mp rear camera by Omnivision with 28mm wide angle lens and can shoot 1080p videos and also include 2mp front camera for selfies and can rwcord 720p videos.
It consists of 2200mAh battery a bosst from Redmi 1S's 2000 mAh, weighs only 133 grams and is 9.4mm thick which is thinner by 0.5 mm than Redmi 1S.
The Redmi 2 will be available in five colour variants - Yellow, Pink, Green, White and Black.
The Redmi 2 will go on sale in China from January 9 with price of CNY 700 - that's $112 and roughly around Rs. 7,200/- also the Redmi 1S is now available on flipkart at Rs. 5,999/-
