MICROSOFT ANNOUNCES NEW LUMIA 640 AND 640 XL

As MWC 2015 currently going on we saw Samsung launching its new flagship at its own dedicated event.

Microsoft also had an event scheduled at the MWC where microsoft showed of some new apps for the Windows 10 for phones including the new Spartan Browser , new universal maps app and also the Office suite designed for phones.

Microsoft also announced some new hardware but not in the high end category, but focused to the budget segment with more features like 4G LTE in the budget range.

Microsoft announced two new phones running Windows phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim update.

These new Smartphones are basically identical to each other with very few differences that could be easily spotted.

The first device is the Microsoft Lumia 640 with 5 inch 720p display and the other Smartphone is its bigger sibling called Microsoft Lumia 640XL with 5.7 inch 720p display.

Both of the display is protected with Gorilla Glass 3 and support double tap wake, Lumia glance screen.

Both of the devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz Quad core chipset coupled with 1GB RAM.

Having 8GB internal storage and 128GB expandalble storage,both of the smartphones come with 30GB cloud storage with OneDrive.

Lumia 640XL

Camera department is a point where both the devices differ much, the Lumia 640 has 8MP rear camera and 0.9MP wide angle front facing camera whereas LUmia 640XL has a bumped up 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera.

Both of the Smartphones comes with the new Lumia camera 5.0 software supporting Dynamic flash and HDR.

With the purchase of this devices the user will get a subsription of Office 365 free for one year  which include 1B of cloud storage free for one year.

Lumia 640 comes with 2500mAh battery and Lumia 640XL with more bigger battery of 3000mAh.

Both of the comes 3G and 4G variations, these 3G and 4G variants also comes with single sim and dual sim options.

Prices for the Lumia 640 3G version starts from 139 euros(Rs.9700 Approx.) and for 4G version it is 159 euros(Rs.11,000 Approx.).

Whereas the Prices for the Lumia 640XL 3G version starts from 189 euros(Rs.13,100 Approx.) and for 4G version it is 219 euros(Rs.15,200 Approx.).
